Augustin de Romanet is a graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies and a former student of the National School of Administration (Diderot promotion). Between 2002 and 2005, he served as Chief of Staff to Alain Lambert, Minister Delegate for the Budget, Deputy Chief of Staff to Francis Mer, Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry, Chief of Staff to Jean-Louis Borloo, Minister of Employment, Labour and Social Cohesion, and Deputy Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin. From June 2005 to October 2006, he was Deputy Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic. He was subsequently appointed Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Crédit Agricole SA, and a member of the executive committee. As Chief Executive Officer of Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations from March 2007 to March 2012, he also chaired the Strategic Investment Fund from 2009 to 2012. Augustin de Romanet was also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the ADP Group** for 12 years, from November 2012 to February 2025. He has been Honorary Chairman of the ADP Group since June 2025. In June 2025, he joined Eight Advisory as an advisor to senior management and in October 2025, he became a director of Edenred.
