Over 150 years of entrepreneurial daring
Founded in 1872, Compagnie Chargeurs Invest, then known as Compagnie Maritime des Chargeurs Réunis, is one of the world's leading international groups. It operated in the maritime and then air transport sectors at a time marked by the expansion of international trade. From the 1980s onwards, it diversified strategically, focusing on textiles, industry and the media.
In 2015, Michaël Fribourg became the new reference shareholder and Chairman and CEO. Under his aegis, Compagnie Chargeurs Invest, then known as Chargeurs, underwent a profound transformation, resulting in strong growth in its existing businesses and brands, and the creation of new business lines that are world champions in their markets.
In 2024, following the success of the public tender offer, Chargeurs adopted a new capital structure, better suited to its ambitions, with a family-controlled and long-term institutional shareholder base.
In 2025, the Group opened a new chapter in its history and became Compagnie Chargeurs Invest, affirming its dual industrial and financial vocation, and its culture of managing a portfolio of assets.
