Emblematic projects
National Air & Space Museum (Washiongton D.C., United States)
Le National Air and Space Museum is one of the world's most iconic museums, dedicated to the fascinating history of aviation and space exploration. It houses an unrivalled collection of historic aircraft, spacecraft and artefacts, attracting millions of visitors every year.
It set itself the challenge of completely rethinking its original museum before its fiftieth anniversary in 2026. As a trusted partner since 2018, Museum Studio manufactured and installed the first eight exhibition spaces as well as several communal areas as part of this gradual transformation.
This iconic museum, designed to display life-size aircraft and spacecraft, imposes an impressive scale. The exhibition furniture, designed and created by experts, has been designed to match this spectacular scale and showcase fascinating artefacts. Through these new galleries, the museum invites visitors to explore the history of mankind's conquest of the skies and space.
The Burrell Collection (Glasgow, UK)
Museum Studio has been selected by Glasgow Museums to design the masterplan for the renewal of the museum. Burrell CollectionGlasgow's iconic museum houses one of the world's most remarkable collections of decorative and visual arts. Charged with redesigning the 8,000 m² of exhibition space, Museum Studio came up with a staging concept in perfect harmony with the building's modernist architecture and its exceptional natural setting.
More than 200 bespoke display cases were created to ensure the preservation of 21st-century collections, while incorporating an approach focused on accessibility, sustainability and aesthetics. The exhibition space has been extended by 35 %, optimising circulation and making the museum more inclusive.
This major project has helped to make the Burrell Collection the winner of the prestigious " Art Fund Museum of the Year 2023″.
Diriyah Gate (Saudi Arabia)
Diriyah Gate is a major transformation project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, aimed at turning this historic destination into the world's largest cultural and heritage centre. This exceptional site is home to At-Turaif, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and embodies an ambitious vision combining history, culture and modernity.
Museum Studio contributed to this major project by imagining the concept for six major cultural attractions. Its work brought the client's vision to life by defining clear guidelines for the visitor experience and the enhancement of heritage. Each space was designed to offer a unique experience, combining authenticity and innovation.
Museum Sutdio was also hired to oversee the creation of five permanent exhibitions, in collaboration with international teams, and to provide its expertise on five other projects. His support has ensured a demanding and coherent approach to making Diriyah Gate an exceptional place where past and present meet in harmony.
